Transferring your phone number to Talk2Me
In most cases you can keep your existing phone number when you move to Talk2Me. Moving a number between providers is called porting.
What we need from you
To port your number we need:
- The phone number you want to transfer
- The name of your current provider
- A recent bill or account number from that provider
- Your authority to make the transfer (we will confirm this with you)
What to expect
- Do not cancel your current service first. Cancelling early can release the number and make it harder to port. We will manage the changeover for you.
- A standard port usually completes within a few business days.
- There can be a short interruption to your phone service on the day the port completes.
- We will let you know once the number is live on your Talk2Me service.
Numbers that cannot be ported
Occasionally a number cannot be moved, for example if it is part of a service the losing provider will not release. If that happens we will talk you through the options.
